I work at M&S HQ, getting all the gossip about fashion and lingerie and writing for M&S online. My background’s in glossy magazines, and I’ll be blogging here about new and inspiring collections, my favourite pieces, trends and new looks for the home. Seeing as it’s M&S, I might get sidetracked talking about food. I’m a bit of a foodie and an experimenter, and I’ll give anything a go (most recent triumph: oatmeal and raisin cookies). Having recently moved to London, at the weekends you’ll find me trawling markets and antique shops for the perfect oh-I-just-found-it-in-Portobello finishing touches for my flat. It’s a never-ending task, but I’m getting there!

I have worked at M&S for 38 years, the last 28 of them in the wine department, a job that has turned me grey but kept me smiling! During this time I've seen many changes – when I started, the M&S range comprised roughly 40 wines, but today it stands at over 600. My main passions have been establishing classic appellations as touch-stones in the M&S catalogue as well as the sourcing and procurement of New World wines. For the last three years, I have been working to develop the M&S Wine Club – the main aim here is to allow our customers to get the most out of our wines. Throughout my career, I have continued to follow my mentor Christopher Tatham's mantra – "a wine's first duty is to be delicious".

I work in the M&S food team and look after health and nutrition, from our policies through to working with the development teams on our healthy eating ranges eg Simply Fuller Longer. I'm a qualified nutritionist but not the type that recommends the latest faddy diets or restricting foods from the diet (unless there is a good reason to). I love food and believe that everyone should be able to enjoy what they eat – it's all about balance. I'm going to be blogging about new healthy ingredients, ranges and occasionally giving my opinion about something that's been hitting the headlines!

I work in the M&S Company Archive and my main role is to look after and catalogue the historic clothing collection. There are nearly 3000 garments and accessories and the entire archive has an excess of 70,000 items. A fashion and design historian by trade, I’ll be blogging about the company's history focusing on clothing and design. This includes the numerous clothing treasures in the M&S Company Archive, fabric and design innovations, fashion revivals and recent acquisitions to name but a few. I will also keep you posted on the work of the archive and any exhibitions where M&S historic clothing is featured.

At the age of seven I skipped into mum’s kitchen picked up a recipe book and basically have never looked back since. I trained as a Home Economist and have spent the last two decades in food, developing new recipes and products for food magazines, manufacturers or retailers. I have been in Foods at M&S for the last five years as a Product Developer working on new and exciting ranges that will delight our customers. I’m currently the Product Developer for Italian meals, breads and The Cook Menu. Italian food is my passion. Last year I booked myself on to an amazing food writing course and this gave me the food writing bug. I’ll be blogging about our new product launches, foodie news, reviews & inspiration. I grew up in Durham and am now in London living the magic and sparkle of a foodie life!

I’m head of lingerie design and product direction at M&S and responsible for the research and product direction of our bras, knickers, sleepwear and hosiery. The first years of my career were spent designing everything from dresses, to shoes. Little did I know when I was asked, 17 years ago, to help M&S to boost the ‘fashionability’ of the underwear ranges, that I would embark on a passionate love affair with lingerie that has since become my career! Today, I head up a team of design experts, or ‘creative masterchefs’ as I call them, who scour the world for new ideas and ensure that we develop market-leading lingerie that our customers will love. Here I’ll be writing about ‘what lies beneath’ in the world of M&S lingerie, from inspiration and innovation, with a few personal tales along the way!

Covering menswear for M&S online – based at our HQ in London – you can usually spot my desk as being the one surrounded by rails of men’s clothing, stacks of men’s style magazines and usually a discarded teacup or two. Perhaps I ought to tidy my desk more often. I come from a fashion background and I’ve worked for a couple of other large retailers, always taking a special interest in all things menswear. I’m particularly drawn to strong tailoring values and all things heritage and British, which is pretty handy as lots of the current and upcoming M&S menswear features these characteristics. On a personal level, as a Leeds lad, I’m particularly proud to work for Marks & Spencer – my grandfather even worked in the same market that M&S was founded in!

Jo O'Boyle

My name is Jo O’Boyle and I am 31 years old. I am currently pregnant with my first baby, which is due on the 20th December 2011. I live in Buckinghamshire with my husband Paul and work for M&S at their head office in London as a Marketing Manager for Kidswear. Paul and I met on a ski trip organised by his company in March 2008 after being introduced by my best friend. We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2009 and we got married in March this year! In my spare time I like to keep fit by running, playing netball and horse riding, although now that I’m pregnant the netball and horse riding have taken a back seat and long walks in the country have replaced going for long runs by the river!

I’ve been working at M&S as a product developer for over 13 years now. I’ve certainly notched up quite a few departments along the way, but my favourite would have to be Confectionery. When I joined the department nearly three years ago, friends kept telling me I had the perfect job – they said it must be like being Willy Wonka! I was slightly sceptical at first, as I didn’t think they were seeing the real picture, but after giving it some thought I realised that this really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and perhaps the closest I’ll ever get to following in his footsteps! And as for looking after Percy’s interests, well it’s an honour ...

I’m the Product Developer for Chilled Desserts at M&S Head office in Paddington . My job is to develop new desserts which among other things means lots of tasting. It’s a fun job but it’s difficult not to pile on the pounds. In my spare time I try to keep fit by taking long walks in wild, beautiful Richmond Park (which I love) and by going to the gym (which I hate!) I also spend lots of time eating and drinking with friends – undoing all that good work. I live in Surrey with my two teenage children – my fiercest dessert critics .

As a farmer’s daughter, food has always been a huge part of my life and I learnt to cook & bake with my grandmother at the age of 5. I grew up in Durham in the countryside though now live in London. I completed a degree in food science, graduating in 2000 and have since worked in the food industry primarily in product development, though I did have a few years where I was also looked after the purchasing of ingredients & packaging. Food is a huge part of my life and I love to cook for friends and family. I consider myself very lucky to love my job as much as I do. I was a contestant on Masterchef in 2009 and managed to reach the quarter finals. I have been in the M&S food group since early 2010 as a product developer working within the grocery department. I currently look after various areas including canned goods and our new Terribly Clever products. I will be blogging about the new products we are launching within the grocery area and innovative ideas of how to use them.

Dr Simon Coupe

I have worked as an agronomist for M&S for the past 6 years working with growers and suppliers to bring the latest innovation in fresh produce to the shelves for our customer. I have a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology and prior to working for M&S I was a university academic trying to understand how plants sense their environment and respond to it especially when vegetables are harvested. By understanding this we can design packaging that can slow down the process or find plants that 'die' more slowly. This has stood me in good stead when talking with other scientists that are breeding the latest generation of our veg and helps me to understand the latest technology that breeders are using to select new plants to eat.

As part of the M&S Stories Team, I spend my days gathering the latest fashion, home and beauty news from across the business. I started out my career at a magazine publisher – and still write the occasional feature for them – but blogging is my true passion. In my spare time you'll find me on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and any other social network that takes my fancy. It's a great way to procrastinate and avoid my long to-do lists (I'm a Virgo, we like lists). Working in retail is perfect for me because I love to shop, whether that's scouring charity shops or popping into my local M&S for a bargain. I've been getting behind the M&S shwopping campaign to keep my wardrobe clutter-free and I'll be sharing my shwopping tips on Stories whenever I can.

Buyers are very important to M&S, they work to develop all the products that we sell in our stores and online, and they’re always on the lookout for new trends and styles to bring to M&S customers. Although there are plenty of buying teams at M&S, working on a diverse range of products, we’ve brought them all together on M&S Stories as ‘The Buying Team’. The Buying Team will be bringing you style tips, new product information and fresh fashion ideas – but they also want to hear what you have to say, so make sure you get involved and join the conversation!

I’m one of the Beauty Buyers at M&S and I work on the Bath & Body area of beauty. It’s my job to develop all the M&S exclusive Bath & Body ranges which includes all your old favourites like the Floral collection and Royal Jelly, as well as coming up with exciting new ranges and products. I have been working in Beauty for the last 7 or 8 years and am ever so slightly obsessed with it! I love trying all the new things that come out, testing all the claims, fragrances etc. and while some women have issues sneaking new shoes into the house under the eyes of watchful husbands, I have problems with toiletries and make up. My Bathroom cabinets are overflowing and I am constantly looking for new hiding places to store them in in my teeny tiny flat! My blog will be about how we develop our new products and ranges, the background to some of our exciting new collaborations, and how we come up with those ideas in the first place.

I work as a Garment Technologist at Marks and Spencer on a range of products in womenswear, looking after the fit and finish of products. We hope customers have as much fun with it as we did - inventing new ways of wearing it each time we try it on! I'm really looking forward to hearing your feedback.
