These chairs prove that design doesn’t need to be flashy and over the top. Simple shape, understated style, color that isn’t brash. The perfect package. Bainbridge is my favourite, but all are amazing. You can imagine in 50 years your grandchild moving it into their new home as a family heirloom!

All so simply stylish and timeless. My favourite….. Hard to choose but think I am most torn between the Bainbridge and the Marlowe, but would happily sink into any of them!

Terence Conran is a master of design. The chairs, like all the Conran range, are beautiful in concept, design and manufacture. I have been to the Design Museum and covet not my neighbour’s oxen – but certainly any one of those fabulous chairs!

I love the Conran range. It offers timeless stylish understated designs using unusual colour palettes which are easy on the eye and offer textural interest. The quote from William Morris springs to mind – “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or beautifuI”. I think that the range definitely encompasses this sentiment. One of my favourites is the Chaucer chair upholstered in a sumptuous velvet….mmm

They just look so warm and welcoming! I’ve only got little legs, and many chairs just don’t fit me. I either perch on the edge with my feet on the floor, or sit back with my legs sticking our in front, like a doll. These not only look as though they would fit me, but they would perfectly match my decor.

They are all very stylish and unique in there own ways. The quality of M&S furniture is always of an excellent standard, hence the reason I would be very suited to own any of the four chairs!

Conran always manages to capture the essence of a look or a particular style. He does it seemingly effortlessly and gets the balance and proportion just right. It’s no accident that he is one of Britain’s iconic designers. Bit of a national treasure really.

His range at M&S is a breath of fresh air. Affordable, great quality design for the great Great British public.

Oh Marks & Spencer – I’ve been a loyal customer for many many years but am increasingly unable to find clothes I like – not everyone in Britain wears trousers and your selection of skirts for this summer (and it looks like the winter too) is dreadful. Also, not everyone is pencil thin so some knee length skirts with a bit of flare would be good. And I’ve banged on about your tee-shirts – too long and narrow for under 5’3 people! Where is some decent Petite range clothing? It really would be worth consulting the over-50s to see what kind of clothing they would like – I’m a contemporary of Twiggy but much of what she models would be hopeless for me. I think I’ve offered in the past to join forums but have heard nothing. Wait to hear!
