Simply Fuller Longer challenge week 3

I have to admit, when it comes to exercise I can be a bit complacent. Okay, very complacent. In recent times the hours I have dedicated to working out amount to a big fat zero! Quite shameful really isn’t it? Luckily for me, to show their support of my month long Simply Fuller Longer challenge the lovely Activewear department at M&S have provided me with some great sportswear pieces to encourage me to take my challenge just that one step further! And it has worked! I’ve actually dusted off my yoga mat a couple of times in the last week and had a little go at this thing called exercise. I even went for a short run on the weekend. Just round the block but it’s a good start! And having new exercise clothing has spurred me on and made it all the more enjoyable.

Working out in M&S Activewear

Just like the Simply Fuller Longer range, the sportswear on offer at M&S is pretty vast with many of the items containing clever technologies like Secret Support and moisture wicking (which, in a nutshell, pulls perspiration away from the skin and stops you feeling hot and sweaty).

And on that note, why don’t we move onto the subject of my last weigh in? Drum roll please, big sigh of anticipation…have I lost anymore weight?…Yes! I’m just 2 lbs away from my target weight of 138 lbs! In a mere three weeks, through a combination of eating healthy breakfasts and hearty SFL meals I have lost 8 lbs! That is over half a stone! I’m more than a little pleased. My stomach feels flatter, my clothes feel looser and I’m now digging out little numbers that were previously a little too tight for comfort!

It's just water, I promise!

Avoiding alcohol has also been a contributing factor to my decreasing size and it’s been surprisingly easy to do. I’ve always associated going out in the evening and seeing friends with a glass of wine or two (or usually three!). But in recent weeks I’ve shocked myself; I’ve been out to a bar, a club and then to a gig without a single drop of alcohol passing my lips. Whilst others were knocking back the drinks I was sipping water, safe in the knowledge that I would be headache free the following day, whilst still having as much fun as those around me. Who needs alcohol to have a good time? Not me, I’ve just discovered!

So I’m now well over the halfway mark of the 4 week challenge and still as enthusiastic as can be. There really have been very few downfalls. I feel like I’m on to a pretty good thing here and pleased that I’ve been able to share this experience with you. Do let me know if you have tried out this healthy meal plan and how you’ve been getting on by leaving a comment below.

And now it’s time for me to slip into my new jogging bottoms and step up my exercise regime a notch or two….today a 20 minute run, tomorrow a marathon…who knows, it could just happen!
