Lynne Nibbs is a technologist in our lingerie buying team and she’s been working on making M&S sports bras even better than ever before. Here she explains what makes them extra special.
Are you feeling sporty this summer? Wearing a supportive sports bra while working out is so important, which is why we’ve been building on our sports bra range for some time to provide our customers with a better choice of styles, comfort and performance. The M&S range offers different support levels to cover medium, high and extra-high impact sports, so that you can feel supported in all types of fitness activities from yoga through to aerobics and long-distance running.
In order to continue to improve our sports bra performance we worked with a leading sports science company called Progressive sports who are based in Loughborough. This meant we could scientifically measure performance during the development of our improved Extra-High Impact Sports Bra (pictured left).
We found that, during running, wearing this bra reduced breast bounce by an average of 53% compared with wearing a standard bra.
Our sports bras are made using performance fabrics with fresh and cooling yarns or finishes to boost your confidence while working out. In addition to this, all of our sports bras are either made from high-performance recycled yarns or organic sustainable cotton, or are produced in our M&S certified Eco factories to ensure they comply with our Plan A environmental strategy. A win-win situation we think!
Here are three more key styles from the collection; the zip-up non-wired sports bra (made in our eco factory) available in several colours, our push-up style sports bra, again available in several colours, and finally, our popular plain high-impact sports bra shown below in white.
We’ve also developed a new sports bra designed for younger women and girls in our Angel Collection. Find out more about it here. As you can see, we’ve been very busy!

I’m reading the comments above – and there should be 9 – but I can only see 7! There’s nowhere that will allow me to read the other two comments. Can you help?

Hi Alison, the two additional comments you can’t see are actually replies from us to other people’s comments. We hope that helps.

I am a post surgery size 30G so finding any bra at all is a bit of a challenge. I have never seen any M & S bra in my size so my empathies wih the j cup lady above. We need to keep nagging. !!

Hello
I do wish you could produce some sports bras for the J fitting ladies! We do sports as well! The new sports bras look so supportive (especially the grey one with the racer back). It is so frustrating to see such good bras but not to be able to fit into any of them! Come on M&S help the larger-bosomed ladies to keep fit. We can’t all wear underwired bras – with heavier breasts the wires dig into the rib cage – so the racer backed bras give such good support.

Hi, I think the expansion of the sports bras are great, but i do like non-wired bras which you dont have many of, my current sports bras are m&s and they wash really well.
The one thing i would like to see is sport knickers??! I do spinning and so appropriate underwear is a must, i have specialised underwear from a big name brand, but they come in at £30 each and so if m&s made them at an affordable price i would, and probably many other regular gym goers, would purchase sweat wipe away knickers to keep us nice and fresh.

my daughter goes to gym and needs a sports bra, i cant find one that is within our budget except in marks but there is no 44 d bust,so im with the lady who asks for me larger sizes. im sure they would be popular. pyjamas in larger sizes would be good to as she likes to look pretty and often she sees something in marks in nightwear but it doesnt go up to 24 its a shame there must be lots out there in the same position

I was in a store and picked up a purple sports bra that zipped up the front – I thought it was fantastic as I would not have to phaff around with hooks that I cannot reach – I also loved the colour and style. Unfortunately there was only one and not in my size – when I asked they told me it was a return and the store did not have any in stock but I could buy on line – when I looked there was only a black one on line – so where can I get the purple zip up the front bra in my size??

Hello, I would like to be able to buy a non underwire sports bra in 44DD. It is most frustrating that women with a larger bust are not considered as needing sports bras. We need them just as much as smaller breast women.
We like to participate in activities too.
I do like your new zip up bra, I’m looking forward to the day that it Is produced in larger sizes.
Thankyou

Hi Barbara, thank you for your comment.
We offer underwire as added support for a larger bust we also go on past sales figures and which styles are popular with our customers. If the demand is there we will look at stocking a particular product.

As others have said here, why is it assumed that larger people are not interested in fitness? You say at the end of the video that you have a sports bra for everyone but I wear a size 42B and have not been able to find a sports bra in your range.

Sports Bras
Please can we have some bras in cream or nude which can be worn under light coloured blouses – I am a folk dancer and want a sports bra to wear under my costume. I have found one but sadly not an M&S one.
