I recycle al the usual things from glass and paper to clothes and old toys and electricals. Just recently I’ve started recycling my food, or rather I’ve started to freeze my leftovers or use them for the next days meals, I absolutely hate waste and I’ve found so many simple meals online that can be made with left over vegetables and meat etc, it’s also saved us a lot of money by reducing our food waste, I just wish I’d started doing it years ago.

I recycle my Dad’s jokes!!
….and of course, kitchen items, and give unwanted furniture to the local council’s charity for the needy. Oh yes, and make smoothies out of fruit that may have seen better days!

I recycle scraps of food, vegetable peelings go both to the compost bin and over the fence!! I do this to give the fallow deer in the woods around us a little treat during the. Bread and bacon scraps/ fat goes into the fat balls along with seeds etc to feed the garden birds. Cans, bottles etc go into the recylce bins at the local tip as we are not supplied with bins here. Old newspapers etc go to the stove to heat the house.

Well done M&S – you must be the 1st company to recycle this way, truly innovative! I recycle banana skins they make excellent plant food if dug into the soil, also I recycle the plastic netting you get on pre-packed fruit and veg. by making fat balls for the birds then putting them in the nets to hang in the garden. I also save all those little pieces of used up soap and when I’ve enough I soak them and re-form into a new bar!
