Valentine’s Day augmented reality

If you’ve passed through Waterloo station today, the likelihood is that you’ve already spotted the giant M&S Valentine’s Day billboard. Hopefully, you will have experienced Katya – the model on the billboard – come to life by downloading a Smartphone app called ‘Aurasma Lite’, and received a little extra Valentine’s Day inspiration whilst making your commute!

You see, we’ve gone all technical by using a technology called Augmented Reality (AR), a first for M&S, which means that if you download the Aurasma Lite app and hold your phone in front of the billboard image, the model will spring into action and showcase different sets of lingerie and rose bouquets. If you’re nowhere near Waterloo today, then fear not, simply download the app* and then hold your phone in front on the image below. After a few seconds, the video will load – have a go:

*Aurasma Lite is available on iPhone 4, iPad 2 and Android 2.2 and above.
