It’s been a long time in production, but we’re incredibly excited to introduce On your Marks for a summer to remember, our brand new TV ad that takes you on a journey through the perfect British summer. If you’ve not yet seen the ad, you can watch it below:
The advert centres around a summer garden party and involves some quintessentially British pastimes – such as garden tennis and an egg and spoon race – ending with an old fashioned sing-a-long around a bonfire. Not just that, but due to popular demand we’ve reunited your favourite M&S celebs – Twiggy, Myleene Klass, Dannii Minogue, Noemie Lenoir and Gary Barlow all feature alongside more recent recruits, Jamie Redknapp and Lisa Snowdon.
The advert’s music also deserves a special mention as Gary Barlow expertly covers the George Harrison-penned Beatles classic Here Comes the Sun, Gary commented: “It’s great to be back with M&S and it’s real a privilege to cover such an iconic track. You can’t better perfection but I hope we’ve given it a modern twist that will capture the mood of the nation and provide the perfect anthem for summer 2012.”
Here’s a little reminder about when everybody first joined us:
• Twiggy made her M&S debut in 1967, returning as part of a new look line-up for 2005 campaign.
• Noemie Lenoir also joined us in 2005 as a member of the new line-up.
• Myleene Klass joined us in 2007 and most recently was the face of M&S TV.
• Gary Barlow, along with his Take That band mates, were the 2008 faces of Autograph menswear.
• Dannii Minogue first appeared for M&S in our Spring/Summer 2010 fashion campaign.
• Both Jamie Redknapp and Lisa Snowdon joined the M&S family in 2010 and have gone on to become the faces of the M&S Man and M&S Woman brands.

Fabulous advert. It is raining here and just watching it made me feel summery and want to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the summer.
