M&S maternity clothes put to the test

My name is Jenny Gee, I’m 33 years old and currently 27 weeks pregnant. This is my 1st baby and I’m due on the 14 July. My husband and I have decided not to find out the sex of the baby but love guessing what it might be, which changes week by week (at the moment we’re thinking boy!) I work in M&S head office and have been here for nine years and I’m currently a PA to one of the directors.

I love my clothes (maybe a little too much judging by my bank balance every month!) It’s really important to me to look and feel smart for work and confident in what I’m wearing but also comfortable – especially at the moment. I haven’t worn high heels for the past couple of weeks due to backache but am hoping they’ll make a comeback for some of the Summer.

My favourite item of clothing has to be skinny jeans/trousers. I live in them and love wearing them with plimsolls, sandals & of course high heels (when I can). I often wear them with blazers and, although I’m not big on accessories, I’m learning to love them – at the moment I’m wearing a lot of scarves with tops which are getting a little on the tight side for me now.

Having once loved going to the gym (before I was pregnant), and particularly being into running, the thought of my figure changing was always a bit daunting and the thought of maternity clothes even worse as I haven’t been too impressed by what I’ve seen on the high street – including the cost. So I was so excited when I heard M&S was launching a new range of maternity wear (including lots of skinny jeans) which I’m going to be blogging about over the next few weeks.

Maternity

My latest outfit: Maternity Pure Cotton Striped T-Shirt,
Maternity Wide Waistband Denim Jeggings.

Loads of people told me they love this stripy blue t-shirt when I wore it the other day – even people who aren’t pregnant said they were tempted to buy it. I’m wearing it here with indigo over-the-bump jeans. They’re so comfortable and a great fit. The t-shirt also comes in red which I will definitely be purchasing, so watch out for that in blogs to come. I love that I can wear it either causally at weekends but also partnered with my favourite blazer to make it more smart for work. Its only £15 so not bad for something I will get a lot of wear out of.

I’d love to take my friend who is 16 weeks pregnant. It would also be a great place to tell her that I’ve just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant myself (but keep that to yourselves!).
And it’s meant to be a great trip out with lots of freebies!
    Exciting times!

Being pregnant with my second son, I would love to go to the baby show so that I am able to purchase new items for him & also his big brother.

I’ve heard that the show is a great day out & I would love to see all the new gadgets available to parents.

I would love to go to the Baby Show as I’m 33 weeks pregnant with my first baby (due June 24th). I’ve heard lots of good things about the Baby Show from friends and colleagues who have attended so I’d love the chance to go. Being pregnant for the first time is both a magical and scary experience. Attending the Baby Show would be a good way to meet ‘experts’ and other parents-to-be, as well as play with some toys and/or gadgets!
