3 ways to wear the Great British blazer

With a very social summer on the horizon, it’s important to invest in a few key pieces that can take you through the whole season, regardless of the occasion. Many of this summer’s events are going to have a patriotic feel – whether we’re supporting the nation’s sporting teams, or celebrating the Diamond Jubilee – and we can’t think of any item of clothing more appropriate than the Great British blazer.

The classic blazer should be navy blue, well cut and have contrasting metal buttons, but the real beauty of the blazer is its versatility – it’s perfectly acceptable for work, whilst sharp enough to wear at a party – the ideal boardroom-to-bar item. To demonstrate this versatility we’ve styled three unique outfits using just one blazer, with each outfit representing a different wardrobe requirement. The blazer we’ve chosen is the Luxury Pure Wool Single Breasted Blazer because of its exquisite detailing and its nod to all things British – it features a distinctive red, white and blue collar melton (that’s the bit behind your neck, on the underside of the lapels), coat-of-arms buttons, and it even uses cloth made in England.

Sorry but it’s Mrs Reddish…No.1 Excellent Ensemble
No.2 In Australia the blazer would normally not be worn with shorts. Not a particularly good look.
No. 3 Another Excellent Ensemble.Formally with tie and informally without tie.
in Australia in summertime we are probably a lot less formal than the UK..Love the blazer may get one for my husband…

I like this post, particularly like the additional pictures of the blazer details. Think I’ll probably have one of these.

ps. outfit 1 all the way, outfit 3 I would choose grey trousers instead. Outfit 2, only if I was on a boat.

Number 3, and it can be informal by removing the tie and using an open neck shirt.
