Chic shapewear solutions: Waist Sculptâ„¢

Corsetry has come a long way since the Queen came to the throne in 1952. Back in the day, thick, panelled layers of fabric and boning were some of the traditional construction techniques used in underwear girdles to support the figure. The hourglass silhouette of the 1950s, when Marilyn Monroe and Liz Taylor were screen goddesses, is one hot trend which continues to inspire designers. Today’s celebrities such as Katy Perry and Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame also know what an important supporting act some great underwear can be.

With a nod to the 1950s silhouette, and using a combination of innovative bonding construction with flat stitching inspired by vintage corsetry, we developed our Glamour Waist Sculptâ„¢ shapewear pieces. These have been designed to create a sleek, stylish, invisible silhouette under clothing. To meet the demands of today’s active lifestyles, we use innovative, fine, shaping fabrics with ‘no VPL’ finishes that move with your body and are developed to be comfortable to wear all day.

Designed in a beautiful palette of cosmetic-hued neutrals, and incorporating vintage-inspired lace, this unique ‘Only at M&S’ shapewear is seriously sleek and sexy. With the addition of tummy control panels, it helps to get that cinched-in ‘50s hourglass silhouette in seconds! We also know that women love cotton so we also developed Waist Sculptâ„¢ with cotton which provides a cool shaping solution for the summer months.

Here is a selection of the latest styles:

I sent an email (which has kindly been replied to) suggesting Post Surgery bodies for women like myself (with 2 prosthesis pockets). There are times and special occasions when we need a little help to give us a smooth all-over silhouette but unfortunately you don’t have anything like this in your stores or online.
You have done an excellent job in stocking bras and swimwear – now this would be an added “boost” for us all!

why do most of the bodies/shapewear have padded bras? It is almost impossible to get a body without padding. Not everyone want to look like a glamour model.
