Chris Murphy

I have worked at M&S for 38 years, the last 28 of them in the wine department, a job that has turned me grey but kept me smiling! During this time I’ve seen many changes – when I started, the M&S range comprised roughly 40 wines, but today it stands at over 600.

My main passions have been establishing classic appellations as touch-stones in the M&S catalogue as well as the sourcing and procurement of New World wines.

For the last three years, I have been working to develop the M&S Wine Club – the main aim here is to allow our customers to get the most out of our wines.

Throughout my career, I have continued to follow my mentor Christopher Tatham’s mantra – “a wine’s first duty is to be delicious”.
